Some people on this list have had problems with USB/Firewire combo
cards. Perhaps they (the cards) confuse the PCI controller.  Or maybe
Appletalk is giving the card trouble.  You also might want to make sure
that you have the 1.4.1 version or higher of the Apple USB upgrade
software installed and on.  If your not sure, then go to www.adstech.com
and follow the links to the "USB PORT" device info.  They have a direct
Apple Knowledgebase link to the software and info on which machines need
it and which don't.  Good luck

Anyway, I would (and did) stick with a dedicated USB or Firewire card
for the least amount of trouble
