Pat, Did you buy a "new" cartridge and tanks, or a re-filled set? If you buy brand-new from Apple or Canon, they should work fine. If you buy recycled tanks or cartridges, you may have to return them or run the cleaning cycle on the printer to clean out the inkjet nozzles. Click "Print", "Utilities", then check the box that says "Clean ink cartridge before printing". Joe
