I found a site that shows how to add an internal, and a cooling fan if it seems necessary. I was thinking more along the lines of internal, though.

The critical question is what are you using the 7500 for? This may determine what kind of 2nd hard drive set up you may need. You will only get a maximum specified 10 MB/sec (actually less in the real world) on the internal bus as described on my page. I find that adequate for my rather modest needs, mostly storage, backup; light to moderate commercial graphic arts work; personal vinyl record audio conversions to CD's and for mp3's for my iTunes library. It is also cheap. No need to buy a faster SCSI or IDE controller PCI card that will deliver much higher data transfer -- unless you need it. I have also found no problems running 68 pin SCSI drives with 50 pin adapters in the lower bay of a 7300 (which is the same basic case as 7500) or the upper bay on another 7500 (hooked up to my stereo). However, you will still only get the speed of 10 MB/sec. The 7500 described on the web page you mentioned above is used for commercial graphics work and runs a 466 MHz G3. The other 7500 and the 7300 I mentioned runs 200 MHz 604e processors. In addition, the 7300 uses OS 10.1.5 on its lower 68 pin SCSI drive. Good luck --glen (digest mode) Oh Yes, if you do go internal don't forget the SCSI ID and terminination issues. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
