So if I get an external, it needs to be 25 pins, and if I get internal, it
can be anything with the proper adaptor?

To answer your question, I'd like to add a drive, and I'm not 100% sure on
the pros and cons of internal and external. I know external costs more. I
found a site that shows how to add an internal, and a cooling fan if it
seems necessary. I was thinking more along the lines of internal, though.

I went through the same thinking with my PM7600. I finally went for
a second internal HD. Opening the 7600 was dead easy, and I had the
lower bay exposed in about 3 minutes. I slid my new 3.2 gig HD into
the opening and plugged it into the remaining 50-pin SCSI port, and
plugged in the power connection, and that was it! No problems, and
it works fine.

There are details to settle on first, like assigning a number to the
new drive, but it really isn't a hard job to do on these machines.

Good luck!
