I trust you added cards one after the other and re-started successfully
each time. I often use contact cleaner for cards that won't, resetting the
PRAM each time..

Power supplies are model specific so that Power Computing's PS may be a
rewired PC PS and may not be exactly pin-compatible with 8500s. Someone
posted at XLR8yourmac.com how he transferred an 8500 board to a PC ATX
housing and gave a chart on transposing its wiring to be compatible with
the 8500's.

Try re-setting the motherboard and see what happens. Oh, 8100 PS are not
compatible with higher demand 8500s - they conk out sooner..
