I installed a 7500 Mobo today. Now when I turn on the Mac, I get the beep, but no more sound after that. I tried to turn the volume up in the control strip, but it goes back to 0. I looked in the control panel, but found no mute button checked. The mobo came with a A/V plug in. I hooked it up when I installed the board, but then onhooked it to see if the internal speaker would work. No luck.
