Thanks Kyle,
I had a number, but as usual, being smart enough to use
it was the problem. Have you followed the rest of the string? I think
I've got the thing running now, but I am not certain. I kept trying to
get Cache Control X 1.5 to run and the Apple OS would not let me get to it.
It is on the root level of the HD just sticking out there so to speak. After
digging around a bit I fond Mach Speed Control panel in the utilities
folder and it seems to work in X and in 9.1. However, System Profiler
says there is no Level 2 cache installed. I *think* the mach Speed Control
panel is showing evidence that the thing is working, but it may just be
doing its tricks for grins. Shows 150 mhz in X and 149.xxx in 9. The
little hootnus makes its little data trips and goes clicketyclick and if I
change it to 200 it all speeds up. So ya think its all otay, or just
puttin on a show? I tried to (Ironhead again) put in a floppy with
Newertechs Gauges to see if it would run, but the floppy drive stayed real
quiet. Iv'e got the gauges on a cd somewhere, and I'll try them if I find
it. Thanks again,
