I don't think anyone made cache chips faster than 250Mhz.   When I 
had a 300 Mhz G3 with a 200 Mhz cache, it ran fine at a 3:2 ratio. 
IIRC, there was an early G3 clocked at 250Mhz with a 250Mhz cache 
also, so running at 1:1 works.   The limitation is that the cache 
chips must be rated for the speed you are asking for.
