I have had some limited success on drives that this has happened to using the old Micronet formatting utility and selecting the "Atomic" format. Also Silverlining will sometimes see and format drives that others won't. That being said neither one is my Driver utility of choice, once the drive is up and running I _always_ reformat using Hard Disk Speed Tools from Intech USA!
