AFAIK ALL PCI cards would work on a PC or Mac provided there is a 
driver.  For video and SCSI or IDE drive controllers this has to in 
ROM on the card as it is needed at boot time.  For others it can be 
loaded from the disk.  And yes such software is in many cases not 
written for both machines.
