Hi all, I got a problem with SCSI and OS 9.1 on my 6500. No a big issue but enough to have a rickety system instead of a almost perfect build system. I got a 1Gb SCSI internal drive (in the upper bay) with 9.1 system I got a 40 Gb IDE internal drive instead of the original 6go one. All datas and apps are on this drive on special partition and i also made a 1 Gb partition to put a system in it but it is still empty. I got an external SCSI case with a 3,2 gb drive.
The problems are that when i start on the internal SCSI drive without powering the external drive, everything works perfect except when i power it during computer is on.i try to mount this drive with SCSI probe and the system freeze (this problem appears when upgrading from 8.6 to 9.x) Ok, now, when i start the computer with the external drive on, the computer does not detect the internal SCSI drive and it boots on the old 8.5.1 system on the external drive and i can only access the internal IDE drive. Anyway i'll upgrade all drive soon but in all cases, the 9.1 system i'll put in the internal SCSI drive will never recognize the external SCSI devices. On the other hand i plan to use a magma expansion chassis with usb card so i'll be able to use USB scanners and ZIP. I just want to know if other 6500 owner have ever had this problem and if them manage to solve it, just by curiosity and personal knowledge. ;) Thanks Chris -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
