Definitely be ready to copy and know what you are going to  try to find
beforehand.  Opening and closing windows can be the "last" thing you do, so
be judicious with each move and don't spend any time scratching your head
while it's running. Now, open the case and release the sled from the rails,
leaving the  drive connected. Boot the computer, and as it  boots smack the
drive smartly on the  flat side while holding it clear of the machine with
the other hand. If it boots, place it gently in its place (don't bother
seating the sled) and get to  bidniss. If it doesn't, repeat the process.
If  it never does, give up and don't sue me. There are clean-room recovery
facilities, but the expense involved would mandate there be really valuable
data on it (multihundred$$$)
