OK, now that I have unsubscribed to all the other LEM lists, as I am
about to go off scuba diving for a long week (Sea of Cortez), I need
help so I guess I have to post here.......

A client of mine has called me about her LaCie external SCSI HD on her
7200 which can't be found with any disc utility. She took it to the
local apple dealer first, then she called me......???? They say the
drive is DOA. She lost a years worth of data (since her last back up)
and even told me that the machine was on for a few weeks and the drive
had started making some weird noises....... when she shut down and
restarted the drive was gone. She was using a 7200 with a small internal
HD with the system on it and everything else was on the LaCie 6 G
external. All her business contacts and design work.

I thought I remembered someone somewhere saying sometimes you can freeze
a HD and when you restart it, sometimes it will work once but be ready
to back it up......... Anyone else have any suggestions?

Second would be a disc recovery service?

Kyle H said he had connections..... I'm leaving on Sunday morning and
want to try and help this lady.......
