Hi, I've experienced the same thing with my recent acquisition of a 1710AV except I'm using it with a PM 7300/200, OS 8.5.1. My old 1710 (not an AV model) gave up the ghost and forutnately, I came across a relatively unused 1710AV at my University for only $100 CDN. So I hooked it up and the 7300 immediately recognized it, except there was no start-up chime -- to this day it still doesn't chime like the old 1710 did on start-up. I tried to fiddle around with the sound and looked it up & down, but to no avail. I still can't figure out why it's not chiming as it should. Otherwise, the picture is great & the system is humming along as usual (fingers crossed!). Any ideas?
Thanks, Sue p.s.: thanks to those who gave me the heads-up on the RAM & Interleaving issues....muchly appreciated!
