IDs 0 and 1 are a good choice for two internal hard drives. No, neither will enamble termination. There are really these options: 1) Terminator enable or disable, 2) terminator power from the drive, 3) terminator power from the bus, and 4) terminator power to the bus. (1) and (2) through (4) are separate sets of conditions. >> Also, does the terminated device need to be on the last plug of the ribbon, or does it matter? The original setup had the CD ROM on the middle plug and the hard drive at the end. >> Close to the end is OK. What Apple does, knowing that every machine comes with a CD-ROM, is terminate the internal SCSI chain at the CD-ROM. That takes only one jumper. Oh, and ID 3 is pretty much the CD-ROM default for most programs. Using this approach, Apple can get away with not termiating the hard drive. -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
