My Trio arrived and I installed it in my 7300, with IDE 1 connected to a 60GB Ultra ATA/133 Maxtor drive.
The speed is definite over motherboard SCSI. Bootup time was cut literally in half. USB works fine as well in 9.1. The hard disk shows up as another "SCSI" disk. However, I can't seem to get FireWire to be recognised -- Apple System Profiler instead shows a mysterious "USB 1". Anyone heard of this problem? I'm checking with Sonnet technical support as well. Still, it's a great deal if you have a PCI-slot-number-challenged Mac like my 7300 (the other two slots are the ATI Rage Orion and the Aurora Fuse). -- ----------------------------- personal page: http://www.armory.com/~spectre/ -- Cameron Kaiser, Point Loma Nazarene University * [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- ACTUAL CLASSIFIED AD: Parachute, used once, never opened, small stain. $100 -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
