This is correct.   Part of the reason is/may be that Firewire cards 
have no on-board firmware for the firewire, it's all dependent on 
drivers loaded by the OS.  The other reason, in this case, is that 
the combination cards use a PCI-PCI Bridge chip to make one PCI slot 
look like two (or in the case of hte Trio, three).  ASP just doesn't 
see things on the other side of a PCI-PCI Bridge.   It should be able 
to, but it doesn't.  For example, in the S900, where the lower four 
slots are all behind a PPB, only slots A1 and B1 display correctly in 
ASP.  Slot C1 is shown as having a PPB installed, and there might be 
a tiny bit of information about one of the cards in the lower four 
slots.
