The card does NOT work with Macintosh computers so the drive can't be used
unless I go out and buy a Sonnet card. The card is one of the dopey Promise
cards with Maxtor printed on it.

Since I opened the box I cannot return the drive.

Does anyone know of a work-around for using these Maxtor cards with Macs ???

That card is a PC-only version of the Promise card.

The previously supplied ACARD card could be FLASHed to support a Mac; the
currently supplied Promise card cannot.
