Well, It's looking more and more like the sporatic buzzing sound in my PM 6500 is being caused by the fan in the power supply part which I was told could be replaced but that soldering would been needed for the installation.
Since I've never soldered before I think I'll pass on that option and go for replacing the power supply. If anyone has done this before I'd appreciate it if they'd email me off list and give me tips on the removal and installation of a PM 6500 power supply and the appropriate one to get for my computer.
