>I thought the 7200 has the same RAM as the other PCI power Macs

The only caveat to this is *DO NOT* use EDO RAM in the 7200. Apple
says it can damage the motherboard. Use only FPM RAM in the 7200.
The same applies to the clones based on the 7200 which are the
PowerCurve, PowerCenter, PowerTower (no Pro) and the PowerCenter Pro.
EDO is fine in the PowerTower Pro and the PowerWave.

>so you can
>put 128MB sticks in each slot, but the memory guide at other world computing
>shows the biggest to me 64MB

128 MB DIMMS work fine in the 7200. With just one DIMM, I found
that I had to put it in the slot furthest to the right or the machine
wouldn't boot up.

According to Apple's Hardware Developer's Note for the 7200, it
supports 256 MB DIMMs but I don't believe anyone ever made any. If
there were 256 MB FPM DIMMs then you could install up to 1 GB of RAM
in the 7200 (or the related Power Computing clones).

>I don't think this really matters, but if you can interleave on this machine
>then having matching RAM in matching ram slots (i.e. A1 and B1, a2 and B2,
>etc)is supposed to increase your speed a little

The 7200 uses a different memory controller from the x500 and x600
machines, so there is no interleaving on the 7200. Use any mix or
match of DIMM sizes on the 7200.
