Normally that'd logic would be right on. I think though because of it's rarity secondhand (you're hard pressed to find them on eBay these days), the lack of affordable replacement parts and its aesthetic beauty, most owners wouldn't dare hack their machines beyond putting in an L2 slot G3 upgrade. Certainly a far cry from what people do with Colour Classics! The more adventurous will modify the fan exhaust on the back of their machine to cut down the fan noise. You can also get 24bit colour now out of the originally 800x600x16bit limited LCD screen, though that simply consists of an ATI driver update. TAMs are essentially 5500/6500 series machines, just repackaged, so most of those machines' rules apply... 128MB RAM ceiling (very annoying), Video/TV/FM tuner system, only 1 7" PCI card, and I believe a 4GB SCSI HD partition limit aswell. Because of this the TAM was a pokey performer even back in 1997 compared to Apple's (cheaper) workstation offerings - a 9600/300 could have been had for less... unfortunately a 604 FPU probably would have melted a hole right through the thin restrictive casing.
