A while back I read somewhere (MacFixit ?) that computer DVD drives would not read audio discs burnt on cheap media. The clear (non-label) CD's I burned on my external CD-RW would not play on my Wallstreet or on two of the iMacs in the family (WS and the iMacs have DVD drives). Brand name media is no problem. I don't know the cause, but maybe it's from the same reason. Sorry I can't be of more help.
STeve << HOWEVER: With Audio CD-Rs, it appears to be a brand-related issue. From my exhaustive (well, 10-12 disks) testing, here's what I've determined: "Good" brands that read audio CD-R OK: "Imation"; "Kensiko"; "Kensington"; and "PNY Technologies". "Bad" brands where the system freezes (except for mouse movement) until pressing the eject button on the CD-ROM drive: "Memorex"; "Maxell"; and "Staples" brands. >> -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
