This is because to do the set up you and Victoria talk about requires no
special video upgrading as the first poster erroneously imagines.  Just a
performa 630 w/av jacks and apple video player will play dvd's from an
external dvd player hooked into the jacks.  The dvd player is doing all the
work.  The computer is just taking the signal as a signal.  no encoding, no
rendering.  No need for any video edit software
