<< If you install Norton, immediately turn off anything you can via the Extensions Manager that doesn't prevent the program from working.>>
I don't understand this at all. Then how do you use any of the programs that use those extensions? Or, are you talking about when you have to use Nortons to repair stuff, from the hard drive.? You do know you can't repair the hard drive that Nortons is run from, right? << Watch out if you ever have to boot from their emergency CD, as some versions will try to do things to your possibly munged hard drive *before* trying to fix it. Dumb but true. >> Very interesting. Like I said, some like Nortons, some don't. My Mom uses Nortons fully installed, and has no problems. I mainly use it, booting from the CD, in emergency situations. Well, that and benchmarking. I don't see how this is possible, unless you have been using the prevention programs, (filesaver, etc.) part of Nortons. I would guess that different people have different experiences regarding Nortons, because we use our Macs differently, and because we probably use conflicting or compatible programs.
