I found a 9.0.4 (retail) disc on eBay for $40, which is about half the price you can find from a number of the Mac dealers you see in the back of MacAddict or MacWorld magazines. I avoided the model specific install discs because my understanding is that those contain programs that work specifically on the model specified on the discand I didn't want to muck up my HD with unneeded programs. Moreover, I didn't want to waste my money if the install wouldn't work. Others on this list can verify if this is so. I had absolutely no problems going all the way to 9.2.2 from 8.6 on a machine with an xlr8 MachSpeed 300 and an unknown maker USB card and Twin Turbo vid card installed. My computer is is 7300 that is now running Jaguar with over 400MB for desktop memory.
