Cox says the same thing here in Vegas about a min. of 8.5. I can internet connect with 8.1 as well as my normal 9.1, but not with 7.6.1 on my older Macs. I had to do a "Custom Install" of 8.1 and 9.1 to get full ethernet capabilities, as are required for cable modem connections. The standard install doesn't put in all of the ethernet extensions. You will need the same extensions as well as a program like "Dave" or "PC MacLAN" to act as a translator for connecting a PC into the network. David Allen
