On my 6500/Sonnet G3/400/OS 8.6/Tools 6.2.3 and MacLink Plus 12, I wasn't able to format a Zip disk as DOS in any fashion. My main drive has OS 9.1 on it, and I was using Tools 6.2.3 and upgraded today to 6.4.7 and can format Zips in 100MB and 250MB (can't say for the 750MB drives) to DOS. Upgrade your Zip driver software and format Zip disks as DOS disks from Tools version 6.4.7 under the guise of IomegaWare 3.5.
