This might have been true at one time but no longer. MacWorld is for more professional oriented users: ad agencies, graphics houses, large network publishers, etc. People who don't blink at spending tons of money on printers and redundant backup systems. MacAddict is geared to the single user. But it's emphasis is on the new and the newest. It's the bible of early adopters (as they're known to people selling the stuff). Hence the CD with demos and games and silly staff videos. I'm just over their self-consciousness and their silly mascot and their Windows- and Gates-bashing.
