When my 7500 was a 7200/120 it ran fine with a 128MB FPM DIMM installed. 
It's best to use DIMMs with identical specs.

Even up to the 9600 the technical guide states that 64MB are the maximum 
and mentions that 128MB DIMMs are "untested". Some sites still list the 
maximum RAM of various PCI Macs by only counting 64MB DIMM in each slot.
