Off the top of my head a few reasons to use same-spec DIMMs: different 
refresh rates don't always mix well, especially with an upgrade card 
installed; using slower 70ns DIMMs with faster 60ns (or either with 50ns 
if you can find them) defeats the faster RAM since it will all be held 
to the slowest; and though you correctly point out the 7200 won't 
interleave memory, if the person wishes to upgrade the logic board and 
interleave the RAM on it he'll be able to do so if it's matching.
