Ah, You said Trio ! Jeff Walter can explain this better than me but here's the gist of it. The Sonnet Trio card uses a chip (just like the Six slot Macs) that allows it to function with more than three PCI slots. Essentially the Trio acts like three PCI slots on one card (hence the three different functions). The problem your having (I think) relates to the fact that the memory controller is having trouble figuring out whats going on.
