Strangely enough, my 9500 w/generic 2-port USB 1.1 OHCI PCI card does the exact same thing. Apple system profiler (OS X 10.2.3) says "unknown device" and "unknown type", and only tells me where it is on the bus, but not that it's usb. Under the USB devices section, it says "no devices found". Even stranger though, I'm happily using a USB mouse and have used a USB digital camera on this card and it works fine. The ASP doesn't seem to acknowledge the existence of anything plugged into the card, or know what the card is, but it and it's peripherals seem to work. But hey, at least it works :).
