Hey all, I recently read that Apple chokes its USB speed to under 700k/s. That comes from Roxio's website indicating why you can't burn a CD using a USB drive at greater than 2x.
I was wondering if USB 2 is better. I have a 7300/200, and I installed a USB card in it. Would upgrading to a USB 2 card be beneficial? I don't want to get anything that would be a waste, since my bus speed is only 33 or 66 I forget which. Also, are USB 1 peripherals compatible on a USB 2 card? Does anyone know what the possible throughput is between mobo and peripheral? I am operating under the assumption that installing firewire would just be a waste of time, as my mobo couldn't possibly push data fast enough.
