I can use a chopstick (very handy!) to poke the button (again, black 
button set in silver metal square to the right of the PCI slots- is this 
the 7200's CUDA???) with the card in place.

Did so and started up. Happy mac screen and nothing further.

I have the 16Mb dimm on the mobo, I did try 128 on mobo (with and 
without the 16) and 128 on the card. No go for either configuration.
