I would assume this init would be tied to the menu bar somehow, as the menubar usually changes when you switch apps. This thread got so sidetracked I don't really recall what you've tried already, or what's been suggested, if anything. I'm assuming you've tried the "standard" fixes: giving Netscape more RAM, trashing the cache, booting with a bare minimum set of extentions that will still allow Netscape to run. If it runs fine with the minimum extentions, adding the unused ones back a few at a time untill it doesn't, and figuring out which one(s) are causing grief. Don't know if this would apply, but isn't there some type of font thingee that needs to be updated in 8.6? Hopefully someone else on the list can give you a more technical term for it, if you don't know what a "font thingee" is, like me. As I said before, I know next to nothing about OS 8.6, but perhaps this post will steer the thread back to its intended dialogue. HTH, J White Buy American S.O.S.
