I did something recently that certainly might be considered "stupid."
I switched out the original 601 cpu (100 mhz) from my 7500, and stuck
in a 604e (180 mhz), thinking that it might speed things up. A
couple of days later my power supply went kaflooy. Is it just a
coincidence, because it did work for a while? According to GURU, the
replacement cpu might have come from a 7300/180. Certainly there are
interchangeable parts on 7300's and all the way through 8600's, but
probably not the cpu's, is my hunch.

By the way, I found another power supply for my 7500, but of course I
put the original 601 back in there. I'm tempted to try it again, but
if this was a mistake, I don't want to repeat it. Thanks for any
info/advice in advance.
