I believe they take SCSI hard drives, standard 50 pin ones. They have 
standard PCI slots and I think run off PowerPC 604s. Go to EveryMac.com 
and check them out, but yeah they are "supported" through Mac OS 8.1 I 
think but they are G3 and G4 upgradable and they will run Mac OS 9.x 
fine, I believe you can do an unsupported Mac OS X install with 
XPostFacto.
