First, I would rather upgrade a pure Mac than a clone -- you can get one just as cheap and be sure all your add-ons will work. You can also use stock drivers from Apple instead of spending bucks for FWB which are excellent and in some cases will work when Apple drivers won't. Second, don't even think about "upgrading" to X, it's not an upgrade, but a whole new system that most likely will not even run on these machines. It's more like a PC so you probably won't even like it. To say you can run X on that machine is very misleading. If you do manage to get an upgrade card to work on that clone, 9.1 is the place to stop provided you have enough ram. Believe me, I fix Macs all day and I speak from experience.
