The system: PM7500 (with a 604e/200mHz processor upgrade) with 128MB
of RAM (129 w/VM) running OS 9.1.

The burner: Yamaha CDR100 4X (second-hand, obviously)

The software: Toast 3.5.7 (w/Toast CD Reader extension installed)

The blanks: Memorex 40X 700MB CD-Rs

The problem: The burner is rejecting blanks, asking if I want to
initialize them. (I eject them instead.)

I burned one CD-R successfully. During my attempt to burn a second,
Toast unexpectedly quit (I don't remember which error was cited),
producing a coaster. Thereafter all blanks are rejected.

The burner will read already written discs.

During startup yesterday I noticed that the icon for Toast CD Reader had
the red X through it. I installed a fresh copy of the extension. The
red X is gone, but the problem persists.

I'm new to CD burning, so I don't know where to go from here. Any help
will be appreciated.
