I work with the Macs in the Mac Lab at my son's school. Most are 5400 (OS7.6.1) and 5500 (OS8.1). All have Quicktime 5.0.2 installed. Some already had QT installed, while I did the rest from a fresh download.
At home I have a 5400 configured like the school systems so I can test things. I also have a Performa 575 (OS7.6.1, QT4.0.3). The school has some CDs with midi files and others with classical music as QuickTime movies (audio only). These CDs include QuickTime 2.5. The problem is that these files play well on a 5500 and my Performa. but sound like they are underwater on any 5400. Other sounds and movies play well on all of the systems. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks, jim -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
