The best source may be Goodwill Industries (or similar) thrift shops.

Especially, look for their "bargain barn" location. These type of shops 
seldom have time to check out a system, and most usually wind up at the 
Bargain Barn, untested.

Desktop and minitower systems usually go for $3 to $5.

LaserWriters usually go for $5.
