        I haven't done this with a Mac, but I've done it with my Linux
box. On my Linux box, the main source of noise were the cheap power
supply and CPU fans. I bought some nice fans with ball bearings to
replace them with, which made the whole thing much quieter. My PM 8500
is really noisy in comparison, so I think it'll get the treatment, next.
>From listening around on the thing, both the power supply fan and the
old SCSI drives are major noisemakers. The PS fan looks to be a standard
part. I don't know if I want a quiet Mac enough to replace the drives,
though.
