DO NOT start working in a PSU 5mins after powering down. These things can
hold enough charge to kill you for hours and hours! I usually turn off and
remove the powercord from a machine at least overnight then hit the power
button a few times to discharge the capacitors in the unit, before even
opening it. But if you don't even have this minimum of knowledge about them
please do not even go near them. They are very dangerous. Just like a TV in
fact.

As for SCSI drives, they tend to be noiser. Especially as they spin at
10k-15K these days compared to 5400-7200 for IDE drives. Though theres 10k
IDE drives on the way. http://www.storagereview.com/ has found some SCSI
drives in the past that were pretty quiet. I don't have a specific link but
if you go there and scout about you might find some more info. This link in
