Things such as email, some web space, and a cached portal, are part of their bundled service and they think of them as being "free". Depending on how far you are from your CO, and what flavour DSL they're offering, it can be quite slow. Sometimes slower than a bonded pair of V.90 connections! Check with your local cable company.
