OK, I found the prefs you refer to and adjusted them. This does affect
type on some html pages but it has no effect at all on the
type of page I have a problem with. For example,

This is a description of SimCity for the Palm.
On my screen, that type is almost totally illegible and it doesn't
respond to different settings in NS.
