I need to find out if this is the card which allow me to use any ATA
drive on a 7300. I would like to get an ATA drive but would also like
to use a CD-RW using this card. Would the latter plan work? Does the
card allow ATAPI? Or does the card only allow connexions for hard
drives?

The VST UtlraTek66 is designed for hard drives only, as are most cards of
this general type.

Some allow CD-ROMs, but some of these will hang if a CD-R/W is attached.

Greater drive attachment flexibility is provided with the newer, UATA/100 and
UATA/133 cards.

Not withstanding that, the VST card is among the most compatible, for hard
drive use only, with the widest number of PCI-based Macs.

Most of my PCI-based Macs have been converted to UATA drives using VST
UtlraTek66 cards.
