So far this has worked for me every time.
I'd never heard of this one. I had both of my exteranl Zip 100's replaced by Iomega several years ago, but like others on this list, I haven't trusted my important things to Zips ever since then. For the most part, my Zips have behaved (the few times they have been used since then), and use Iomega's tools to keep track of the 'life' left on my disks (a couple dozen of them), but too often I still get mulitple-clicks when accessing Zip disks, and I break into a sweat every time I hear it. Sometimes it will fail to read the disk (or write), but it will work the second or third try. Would you trust that? I sure won't. So I only use the Zips to move large files between my 9500 and Wallstreet, everything that I used to archive to Zips are now on CD-ROMs. But I'll try the advise above to see if it helps. But I still won't trust them in the future. But since I've got 'em, I'll use 'em for something 'till they die. Then I'm done with Iomega products. ---Alex -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
