Hi all;
I bought a Zip 100 back when they first came out. I don't use it
extensively, maybe 2 or 3 times a month. I use it for backups and to
transfer stuff from my Mac to a couple of others I have here in the trailer
park where I live. I don't trust it completely, so I keep my 2nd internal
drive as close to a carbon copy of my main drive as possible. But all in all
I have had no trouble with it. A couple of times it started to click and I
immediately stopped what I was doing with it and reset it.
  To reset the Zip, shut down the Mac. Reboot and hold in the eject button
on the front of the drive until the Mac is finished booting. On an internal
drive you'll have to remove the faceplate unless the faceplate has a
paperclip hole. This hole will be right over the button. This resets the
drive heads. So far this has worked for me every time. Hope this helps
someone.
