*************************** Hi again, I can't believe that I could solve that myself. Since I could get with TechTool "restore desktop" one item back earlier when I booted with the OS install CD. I couldn't run TechTool "restore desktop" on normal startup but I could use it when I booted with the install CD. I have a copy of Disk Warrior on my HD but could never use it to rebuild the directory because I lost the CD to boot with. I got the idea to boot with the OS install CD and use Disk Warrior like TechTool earlier. That didn't work, Disk Worrior said it is on the same disk as the startup disk and can't run rebuild. I copied Disk Warrior to a floppy (1mb), booted with the OS install CD, I could run Disk Worrior from the floppy, it rebuild the directory successfully, I got all files on the desktop back, all items in the trash bin where there again, everything is back to normal. I am sure that many of you tried to find a solution. Thanks, Franz Bangkok -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
