Now it has 2 red lights flashing. The manual said that it needs service. I

The beast probably needs a paper feed roller. About $6.95 for the paper feed
roller. About $59.95 for the paper feed assembly. About 1 hour of "shop time"
to install, as all the upper covers and some of the internal assemblies have
to be removed in order to gain access to this assembly.

Since most LW IIs (of all flavors) and LJ IIs were discarded for this same
fault, another one for $5 will more than likely have the same problem.

Otherwise, the LJ II is perhaps Apple's best ever printer.
